The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) has built a framework to assist in the improvement of geriatric care. This Framework has been named “The 4Ms” (What Matters, Mobility, Mentation, and Medication). This session will discuss how various assessment tools can be implemented and applied within the 4Ms framework to improve care for older adults.
Linda Henrich, DNP, RN, GERO-BC. NPD-BC, CEN, is a geriatric nursing practice specialist at Kootenai Health, located in north Idaho. Linda has developed a program to improve the outcomes of our older patients who seek care in the acute care setting. Linda has been board certified in geriatric nursing through the ANCC since 2013 and also holds board certification in nursing professional development through the ANPD. Both of her advanced nursing degrees are focused on nursing education. Her teaching experience includes both academia and continuing education for licensed professionals. Linda’s professional goal is to have a positive impact on the care provided to our older population through detailed assessments and a clear understanding of individual goals.
