Description
John Lunde, DNP, AGACNP/FNP-BC, RN, CCRN, TCRN, FCCM, has a wealth of critical care and cardiovascular expertise to draw from. Dr. Lunde will focus on the unique aspects of cardiac diagnostics in the evaluation of patients with suspected cardiovascular disease/emergencies. Start with an overview of 12-Lead EKGs to determine the difference in ischemia versus injury. You’ll then move on to determining what laboratory testing is indicated for the cardiovascular patient based on presenting signs and symptoms. The use of imaging as a tool for diagnosing the cardiovascular patient will be reviewed comparing the need for contrast with the need for no contrast when imaging. The utilities of bedside ultrasound will be presented with indications for TEE versus TEE in evaluating the patient with cardiovascular complaints. You will have an opportunity to elevate your understanding and critically think through case studies involving patients with cardiovascular presentations.
