Description
What does equity look like in pregnancy? Dr. Moore will provide an overview of the importance of equity when caring for diverse populations of birth people. Statistics will be reviewed on morbidities and mortality rates impacting diverse populations of birthing people. Key strategies to incorporate when providing care for birthing people using a lens of equity. Resources will be discussed in detail to support healthcare providers advancing their knowledge when providing equitable obstetrical health care.

Shawana Moore, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC Related seminars and products
Shawana S. Moore, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC, is a nationally recognized, board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner who specializes in providing women’s and gender-related care throughout the lifespan. Dr. Moore is committed to providing women’s and reproductive health care to underserved populations. In her work as a women’s health nurse practitioner with health care organizations, she has cared for women and gender-related populations across the lifespan, mostly in underserved areas, for more than a decade. Dr. Moore is the author of scholarly blogs and numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and a contributor to national position statements for the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. She has helped develop podcasts and video productions focused on the promotion of health equity.
