Description

Anxiety is one of the most pervasive and debilitating challenges faced by autistic youth, often exacerbated by heightened trauma responses and sensory sensitivities. Research shows that up to 80% of Autistic individuals experience significant anxiety, manifesting in conditions such as social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), selective mutism, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and panic disorder. These anxieties can interfere profoundly with daily functioning and quality of life, leaving clinicians searching for effective, compassionate interventions tailored to the unique needs of this population.

Join internationally renowned expert Jed Baker, PhD, for this transformative seminar that equips you with evidence-based approaches to address anxiety and trauma in autistic children and teens. Drawing on the best of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Polyvagal Theory, Dr. Baker will show you how to calm the nervous system, foster emotional regulation, and guide your clients through exposure-based treatments – while adapting strategies for both highly verbal and less verbal individuals.

This training goes beyond theory, offering actionable insights into engaging resistant clients, tailoring interventions to the neurodivergent experience, and addressing the underlying trauma responses that amplify anxiety in autism. Through compelling case studies, live demonstrations, and practical tools, you’ll leave with a robust clinical framework to help your clients build resilience and thrive.
